So I just wanted to share some more things about the place I work at, Oktobor Animation. Its such a great place to work! Oktobor actually had its official ribbon cutting last Friday and there was a lot going on! The Mayor and the Minister of technology came, two news stations came, some Maori performers, and the president and executive producers at Nickelodeon came. Then there was an afterparty that was a fantastic time!
This picture below is the Oktobor Animation after party!! They really went all out and basically built a very nice bar in the soundstage room. Free open bar, anything you want as much as you want.
Isn't it cool how they buikt up that wall and put Oktobor down the side! Oktobor was all over the place... It really made me feel like I was part of something big. The studio really did a great job at making all of us feel special.
It was a pretty big party and semi formal... about as formal as animators get.
They even had a podium with Oktobor written all over it. The picture below is of the head of production, Rob and one of the co-founders, Chris. Both guys are super nice... and American!
The guy on the left is the head of assets.... its a complicated job. Any way he's very high up. Long story short, there was a karaoke contest that us animators definitely won! We were great up there, none of us on key, but still great! It was so much fun... and I'm not usually one to get up and sing in front of people. So as a prop to our singing, we brought our Nerf guns up... Well this head of assets guy gave us a bad score so we shot him with our Nerf guns. I SHOT a Nickelodeon big wig.... good idea? Not sure, but it was fun! But for real, all the guys were super cool and encouraged the fun!

Carla and I in the hall of the studio next to one of the many Penguins decorations! Oh if anyone is wondering about the mustache, me and a group of guys at work are doing growing them for a thing called Movember which benefits prostate cancer awareness. And no... Carla is not a fan :)

Flags in the atrium of the studio. Penguins rock!!

And here is the atrium with Oktobor, Penguins, and other fun stuff!

I love working on this show!
If any of the family is wondering... This is the Fras! For anyone else, this is Frasier my producer. Really funny guy with a talent for growing killer facial hair. And he rocks the karaoke machine!

The picture below is of me and the Movember crew. Notice the cool mustaches... mustachi.... whatever the plural is. Anyway, if you're asking "what is a girl doing in that picture... well the guys grow mustaches and the girls grow hair socks... hahaha! Shes an animator who works in the same room I do.

And lastly this is Me, Tiffany and Matt (two other animators) and the two Executive Producers of Penguins of Madagascar, Bob Schooley and Mark McCorkle. When it comes to Penguins, you don't get any higher than these two. They are the ones who come up with all the great stuff we animate. It was a pleasure to meet them and again, they were so incredibly kind and willing to talk to us and really listen.

Like I had said earlier, two news channels came to the studio and I'm so excited to be able to share these videos with you! Now you can see a bit of where I work :) Im not actually in these, but a lot of my friends are. Check out the links below!

ReplyDeleteSure looks like you had fun. Also looks like they "Octobor" are taking good care of you. They better or I'll have to come over there. On second thought maybe that's not such a bad idea either!
